Reputation (SULLY)

Well Dane Sullivan Cooper, I think that we have met before. I found you on many social media platforms with many interesting photos, posts, tweets and vine videos. It took me a little bit to find some deeper background information on you besides the normal quirky things like your addictions to ties and suits… Which by the way I think I found a post that showed 11 suits….??

Well anyway you are from Las Vegas, Nevada ?! Which who doesn’t love that place? But what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas….>>> So I didn’t find to much dirt on you unfortunately.

First lets start with Facebook…

Well the first thing that I notices was that we had 12 mutual friends which I thought was very interesting…
-Allie Waterson- I went to school with her.
-Cody Carpenter- Worked with him a few years ago.
-Hailey Housley- Know her through mutual friends.
-Jadon Niederhauser- Went to school with him also, he is older.
***Kady Brennan- She is literally one of my very close friends!! We talk on the weekly and try to see each other whenever we cross paths.
-Mckilee Murray- Good friend of mine.
-Brooke Rhodes- Went to snow college with her and became very good friends along with lexi fatai, Amanda Jenson.
-HollieKay Hunter- Know her sister and mom pretty good.
-Kylie Jones- Also went to school with her.
-Savannah Lancaster- don’t exactly know how I know her but she is cute!

I also Found out that you are an events Coordinator for Blue Square, which sounds like it fits you because you seem to be pretty social and down for a good time, but not to much of a good time because you are LDS so the standards are there ??  You also like sports and tried out for USU football, and it seemed like you are part of a frat on campus.
(We attended snow at the same time but I don’t remember you nor do I recognize you but you might know me from the hair…)
You also seem to be very close to your dad because you have a lot of pictures of  you two doing activities and just hanging out having a good time.

Instagram

Well you use to have longer hair than you currently do because all of your ictures you have long hair, you seem to have most pictures taken with friends or your go pro. You like to travel and be outdoors as shown in almost every picture. You drive a Chrysler that you customized out and are very proud of it ?! You went on a Mexican Baja cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada. Which when did you go, because I went on the same cruise? Interesting to say the least.  It also looks like you are going on one again this spring break? I thought about it too but I am going to our place out in Cali and just going to drive the coast and maybe take the boat ride out to Catalina…. Anyways you seem to like watches and have a sense in fashion by your posts because you have a unique style for yourself.

I also found you on twitter and LinkedIn but am not going to discuss those and because I want to jump to vine.

Vine

Well your first vine is a fine day of shopping and the purchases that you made.  Then the next one is of your ties which by the way you have to many decisions on which one to wear…  So stick to the Angelo Rossi ones they seem to be your favorite. The ones that you have made seem to have weird sounds with you and some friends or you humping a lamp while the microwave goes off … Your last one you made with your straw hat seems like you got ditched while driving on your way home to Vegas???

It was interesting finding things out about you and finding out that we had mutual friends and attended Snow College. You seem to be a fun, outgoing person with motivation.

Legal, Policies, and Ethic

Are you ever securing your self enough online??
Have you ever been hacked or someone steel money online from you?

We have all in some form been hacked, may not have been as extreme for some but it has. I personally have never been hacked seriously besides the normal getting a virus email, opening it and then it forwards itself to my contacts.

With all the different platforms that we have the security and privacy settings can get a bit confusing because there is so many options that most of us don’t even want to take the hassle or time to switch anything so we leave everything out in the open for anyone to take a look at.

I am an avid Instagram user, so I thought it would be interesting what information they collect from you where they are just a picture-based platform.
They take your username, password and email address when signing up for the app. This to me that is not a big deal, because every other app takes this information and uses it in the same way to start up your profile.
-They can use your other apps to help you find friends on Instagram.
-Analytics information to help measure traffic and trends on the profile.
-Cookies and similar technologies collect information on how you use the service.

So there is a mass amount of data that can be taken because this is not even half of the information that is taken. (To much to even list) but very interesting. I have never been worried about giving out personal information unless it becomes to personal and asking questions such as my social security number or bank account information.

I think that it is very important that we not only use Facebook but utilize the help center also because it can help answer questions that one might have on how one goes about controlling the settings on your Facebook. It is a complete website where you can just search any question that you have and they will explain it and help you resolve it in the most efficient way on trying to change a setting, make a new profile picture or delete your account.

Collaborative and Distance Communication Platforms and Tools

What would we do with out technology.... We would not be able to see family in other states, countries or even a friend attending a different college in the same state. I don't always take advantage of this tool such as Skype, video message or many of the other communication platforms that are available.

Just the other day I was video messaging my brother who lives in Cali, he was working and was at the time riding in the back of his helicopter and was showing me the city below. It was awesome to see the city from above while being in another state sitting on the couch.

First I wanted to talk about one of the cons that I feel is the biggest problem with distant communication. If done to often with not any real interaction it can affect the real world interaction between you and that person. It becomes easy to talk to the person here and there over the Internet and then ending the phone call. The personal connection is one of the most valuables connections that one can have in this life. Instead of going to lunch with someone you can just sit down in the convenience of your own home.

The newest video chat I have recently done was through SnapChat. I love doing it through this app because it is so simple, fast, and easy. I can connect with the people that I already talk to a lot and already feel comfortable sending them pictures or videos of me. Not a lot of people that I know who have Snapchat have used this new feature.  Although some people that I would like to video message with don’t have Snapchat such as older relatives I still have to use my traditional Video message on my IPhone or Skype because it has been around.
